Here’s an update on Bruno the American Bulldog adopted from us 21/01/2016

And here he is enjoying his first ice cream! Fantastic to see Bruno thriving in his forever home and we shall look forward to staying in touch with Bruno’s family!

We thought it would be interesting to share the current situation with found dogs and microchips so that there is some understanding as to what Dog Wardens and shelters are up against and see how this changes over the coming months.

Example: West Lancs area

In March this year there were 11 dogs seized by the wardens.

Out of 11 dogs, 7 were microchipped.

Out of 7 microchipped dogs, only 3 had some up to date owner information registered.

Compared to last month this is clearly not a huge improvement but since compulsory microchipping is now here we will see what difference this makes to April’s figures.

If your dog is not microchipped yet do not panic but it is the LAW so take action now and take them to your vet or have it done here for £12.50.

The micro-chipping amnesty was a huge success!

We’ve ID chipped more than 800 dogs over the last month alone!

Lets hope that everybody has now had their dogs micro-chipped.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER TO KEEP YOUR DETAILS UP TO DATE SHOULD YOU MOVE HOME OR CHANGE YOUR CONTACT DETAILS!

Spring is here (apparently!) so late night opening will start again next week.

From Tuesday 5th April we will be open until 7.00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Time is running out fast to get your dog microchipped.                                                                                                                    With less than a week to go before all dogs must be microchipped BY LAW we are pleased with the response we have had to our ‘Amnesty’.                                                                                                                                                                        We will still be microchipping for just £5.00 until close on Tuesday 5th April so if you haven’t got round to it yet there is still time (but not much!)

A quick reminder that over the Bank Holiday Weekend our hours will be slightly different.

Good Friday, Easter Saturday & Easter Monday:

Reception open from 9.00am until 5.00pm

Viewing from 11.30am until 5.00pm

Easter Sunday we are closed all day.

Massive thanks to Paul Saxton at Shar-Pei Rescue of Great Britain for helping to find a home for this very sweet girl.

She came to us as a stray and sadly, as we still find all too often, her microchip details were out of date and her owner untraceable.

After nobody came forward to claim her we contacted Paul for help to make sure she went to the home that she deserved. She had her pamper with The Groomers on Saturday and went to her new home yesterday. Thanks again to everyone who helped and good luck Rink!
